This was a school project for my Electronic Design class. The assignment consist on creating three skateboards that will have the same theme. However, each one of the boards must have a different art style/movement.
I was having a hard time trying to come up with a theme that could work as an overall picture. After being part of Art Basel 2016, I got so much inspiration from different art movements. I just had to come up with a theme which was just right on my face. As I was thinking of what to do, a friend said to me "monkey see, monkey do!"
This is how I came up with my theme: "Speak No Evil, See No Evil, Hear No Evil". I decided to go very colorful on this project, so my choices and inspiration were:
1. Henri Matisse and " The Joy of Life" (Fauvism Movement)
2. Edvard Munch and The Scream (Expressionism)
3. On the third one (middle one) I tried something different. Since it is the one under "See No Evil" I wanted to play a bit with that. I chose to mix 2 somehow related movements, so my inspiration for this was Peter Max psychedelic art and Bridget Riley Opt. Art.
Let me know what you guys think of the final product!
